(El Poble Nou de) Benitatxell (Valencian, [ benitatʃeʎ ]; German: The new village Benitatxell , Spanish Benitachell ) is a place in the Valencian Community belonging province of Alicante . Benitatxell has 4276 inhabitants (January 1, 2019), of which 3640 (70%) are foreigners, mostly from other EU countries, mainly from Great Britain.

The center of Benitatxell is inland, but the area includes a 2 kilometer long coastline on the Mediterranean Sea. The place is located south of the tourist center of Xàbia .

The subterranean river Moraig empties on the coast of Benitatxell . So far, three cave divers have died in its widespread, still not fully explored cave system. They looked for the point from which the fresh water of the Moraig is pure enough to found a drinking water well.
