Location of the municipality

Teulada is a municipality on the Spanish Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante . The eponymous place is located five kilometers from the sea. The municipality of Moraira, which is located southeast of it directly by the sea, also belongs to the municipality .

Of the inhabitants in Teulada and Moraira (2008) only 39.63% are Spaniards, the English (23.25%), Germans (13.19%), Swiss, Dutch, French and South Americans, but also Swedes and Norwegians, still live there and Finns. Teulada is the municipality with the fifth largest proportion of foreigners in Spain.

Partner communities are Teulada in Italy and Heiligkreuzsteinach in the Odenwald in Baden-Württemberg.

In the municipality of Teulada there is a rail connection with the line L9 of the Alicante light rail to Dénia and in the opposite direction to Alicante via Benidorm and El Campello .

Festivals

From the first Sunday after Easter, a ten-day celebration takes place in Teulada in honor of the patron saint San Vicente Ferrer .

Moraira celebrates its patron saint, the Virgen de los Desamparados (Virgin of the Defenseless) and Virgen del Carmen , from July 15th. Another important festival in this part of the municipality are the Moros y Cristianos on the second weekend in June.
