Benito Martinez (born June 28, 1971 in Albuquerque , New Mexico ) is an American actor .

Live and act

Martinez is of Guatemalan descent. He trained as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art . Since the late 1980s Martinez has worked in various television and film productions.

His breakthrough came with the television series The Shield - Law of Violence (2002-2008). Through them he became known to a larger audience. Benito Martinez plays David Aceveda , one of the main characters in this police series . Aceveda first serves as the chief of police in the series and is then elected to the city council in later seasons.
