Bernhard Koch (writer)

Bernhard Koch (* 1962 in Hemmoor , Lower Saxony ) is a German journalist , filmmaker and Low German author .

Life

Bernhard Koch grew up in Wohlenbeck , where he learned Low German from his grandparents, and attended the Warstade grammar school in Hemmoor. After graduating from high school , he did his community service in Otterndorf and Stade . He then studied economics , Eastern Slavic and Scandinavian studies at the University of Hamburg .

After completing his studies, Koch worked as an author, freelance journalist and filmmaker, including for NDR , for whose talk show Talk op Platt he made well over 100 feature films from 1996 to 1999. Today he is there as a radio host for the Low German magazine Düt un dat op Platt worked and translator and spokesman for the News op Platt .

In addition, Koch was editor of the Low German magazine Dat Blatt op Platt from 2005 to 2015 .

Bernhard Koch lives in Halstenbek .
