Beyendorfer Grund is a district in the south of the city of Magdeburg .
With only 16 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2016) on an area of 6.044 km², it is one of the most sparsely populated areas of the city. In the south, the district borders on Osterweddingen and Beyendorf-Sohlen , from which the name is derived. Salbke borders the Beyendorfer Grund in the east, Hopfengarten and Reform in the north, and Ottersleben in the west . The federal road 71 runs through the district .
Most of the area is used for agriculture. In the east of the area, however, there is the Magdeburg airfield and an industrial park attached to it. The south fire station of the Magdeburg professional fire brigade has also been located here since December 2001 . A total of around 100 jobs are located in the district. There are 39 member companies of the IHK and 6 members of the Chamber of Crafts (as of 2002).
The residents live in a small settlement east of the airfield on Ottersleber Chaussee and in the far west of the district in the so-called Eckardtshof . The three houses on Ottersleber Chaussee were built in 1921. A total of 12 parcels were sold at that time. While 9 owners only farmed there, 3 settlers built houses. The airfield was then laid out in 1936.
At least from the 10th to the 15th century was in the west of the district, at today's border with Osterweddingen, the village Appendorf (East) , which, however, still in the Middle Ages to the deserted village was. At the southern exit of the federal road 71 in the direction of Halle (Saale) is the Prussian all-mile column Magdeburg, a historic post-mile column from the 18th century. It is listed in the local register of monuments. In addition, a restaurant building in the area of today's street Am Eckhardtshof was also listed. However, the protection status was revoked at the beginning of the 21st century at the latest.
The small and large Wiesengraben with a total length of 5.15 km flow through the district .
