Boßdorf is a village in Lutherstadt Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt . It includes the districts of Boßdorf, Assau , Kerzendorf and Weddin .

geography

Boßdorf is 10 kilometers south of Niemegk and 14 kilometers north of the city center of Lutherstadt Wittenberg in the Fläming Nature Park on the state border with Brandenburg . Neighboring communities in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district there are Rabenstein / Fläming and Treuenbrietzen .

history

Around 1515, Boßdorf, together with the neighboring Assau, became an exclave in the Kurkreis of the Electorate of Saxony , as it was then part of the Zaucheschen Kreis in the Kurmark of the Mark Brandenburg .

Boßdorf originally belonged to the district of Zauch-Belzig (until 1947 the Prussian province of Brandenburg , 1947 to 1950 the state of Brandenburg ). In 1950 the community was assigned to the Wittenberg district in the state of Saxony-Anhalt (from 1952 Halle district , from 1990 again state Saxony-Anhalt).

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent community of Boßdorf was incorporated into Lutherstadt Wittenberg together with the communities of Straach and Kropstädt . Districts of the former community were Assau, Kerzendorf and Weddin.
