Bojan Bogdanović (born April 18, 1989 in Mostar , Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian basketball player who is currently under contract with the Utah Jazz in the US professional league NBA . He is 2.02 meters tall and mostly used in the small forward position .
Career
Bogdanović's playing career began at the age of sixteen at Real Madrid , in the club's second basketball team. At that time, his basketball coach was Božidar Maljković .
He moved in 2008 within the Spanish ACB league to competitor Polaris World Murcia and played there until August 2009. For the 2009/2010 season he moved to the Croatian basketball club of Cibona Zagreb .
After three years in Croatia, he moved to Fenerbahçe Ülker where he developed into one of the leading players in the team. Hence, Bogdanović drew the attention of some NBA teams.
NBA
For the 2014/15 season , Bogdanović moved to the Brooklyn Nets in the USA. In his first year he got an average of 9.0 points, which means he was appointed to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team .
In February 2017, he moved to the Washington Wizards . After they released him, he signed a contract with the Indiana Pacers on July 10, 2017 .
At the Pacers Bogdanović developed into one of the most dangerous players in his position. He led the Pacers in the 2018-19 season, despite the injury of their star player Victor Oladipo , with 18.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in the NBA playoffs .
After becoming a free agent in the summer of 2019 , he signed a four-year $ 73 million deal with the Utah Jazz . Bogdanović played a very good season for Jazz and achieved a career record with 20.2 points per game. After the NBA season was interrupted due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in March 2020, Bogdanović underwent an operation on his right wrist in May and was therefore not on duty when the NBA season continued in August.
International
Bogdanović took part with the Croatian national team at the 2010 World Cup in Turkey and the 2014 World Cup in Spain.
