Joseph Howarth "Joe" Ingles (born October 2, 1987 in Adelaide , South Australia ) is an Australian basketball player who also has British citizenship. He has been under contract with the Utah Jazz in the NBA since 2014 .

After starting his career in the Australian NBL with the Melbourne South Dragons , Ingles played in the Spanish ACB league , where he won the national championship with FC Barcelona in 2011 and 2012 as well as the Spanish Copa del Rey cup competitions twice . After moving to Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2013, he won a Triple Crown with this club from a national double and the ULEB Euroleague 2013/14 .

With the Australian national team , he won the Oceania Basketball Championship in 2011 and 2013 , took part in the Olympic Games in 2008 , 2012 and 2016 , as well as in the 2014 Basketball World Cup .

Career

Melbourne South Dragons (2006-2009)

After two years at the Australian Institute of Sport , Ingles was signed by the new franchise South Dragons from Melbourne in the NBL Australasia in March 2006 as the first player in club history and scored 29 points in his first game, the record for that Representing an Australian rookie's debut in the NBL. At the end of the season Ingles 2007 received the "NBL Rookie of the Year Award".
