Bojan Vuletić

Bojan Vuletić (born June 11, 1971 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) is a composer and musician. Bojan Vuletić's music is characterized by overcoming the boundaries of form and genre and his interdisciplinary work in theater plays, art installations, films, contemporary dance and poetry. His compositional work ranges from chamber music to orchestra and big band , from contemporary to improvised music, from world music to pop for a wide variety of ensembles and projects.

Life and music

Bojan Vuletić was born in Belgrade, Serbia (formerly Yugoslavia) and grew up in Germany for most of the time. He has been taught violin and guitar since childhood. Before studying music at a conservatory, he completed his studies in physics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with a thesis in astro-physics on the evolution of galaxies. He then studied jazz guitar at the Dutch Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Arnhem and then composition at the Messiaen Academy with Paul Keijsers and Martin Fondse .

He founded several musical ensembles (including the German-Dutch “Biyuya Ensemble”), played concerts and recordings in the USA, Europe, South Korea, Japan, Canada, Egypt and Russia and was musical director responsible for larger projects such as “Polyphony "And" Schlaf, Menschlein, Schlaf "in cooperation with the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the European Capital of Culture RUHR 2010 .

Vuletić has played with musicians such as Zeena Parkins , Nate Wooley , Matt Moran , Daniel Levin , Anita Hustas, Audrey Chen, Chao Yun Luo in the USA and worked with Soo-Jung Kae, Chang U Choi and the Moonshiners in Asia. In Germany and Europe he composed, arranged and played a. a. for and with: Vera Westera, Soleil Niklasson, Minerva Diaz Perez, Michael Gustorff , Philipp Kullmann, Patrice Bart-Williams , Tsvetomir Tsankov, Lillo Scrimali , Heinz Hox, Christoph Titz , Nico Brandenburg , Sebastian Gahler , Die Toten Hosen , Frank Schulte and Trovači . He composed and played music for directors such as Volker Hesse , Dedi Baron , Günther Beelitz , Nurkan Erpulat , Bettina Jahnke, Fabian Sattler, Alexander Steindorf, Christof Seeger-Zurmühlen and Thorsten Weckherlin on stages such as the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and the Landestheater Burghofbühne . Including the music for the Brecht pieces “ The Caucasian Chalk Circle ”, “ The Holy Johanna of the Slaughterhouses ” and “ The Temporary Ascent of Arturo Ui ”, which was officially approved as a new composition by Barbara Brecht-Schall and Brecht-Erben GmbH . As a composer and performer, Vuletić has been heard in contemporary dance pieces in Asia, North America and Germany. a. for the choreographers Yun-Jun Kim and Marcus Grolle.

The radio play "Das Rätsel des Schafs", which he produced for the author Naomi Schenck, won the 2006 " Premiere on the Net " award of the ARD Radio Play Days and his radio installation "Photo Sensitive, 1" commissioned by the Serbian broadcaster RTS was awarded for numerous international prizes nominated.

Vuletić has been the musical and artistic director of the Junge Schauspielhaus in Düsseldorf since 2014.

Together with the director Christof Seeger-Zurmühlen, Vuletić founded the annual ASPHALT Festival in Düsseldorf in 2012, which they jointly manage.
