The Bridgeport State Park is a recreational area, about 2 mi (3.2 km) east of Bridgeport in the State of Washington located on the north shore of Rufus Woods Lake, the reservoir formed by the Chief Joseph Dam on the Columbia River has emerged. The state park was established in collaboration with Washington State Parks and the United States Army Corps of Engineers after the dam was completed in 1955. The 25-year lease of the park was extended in 1990 and again in 2015. The park occupies 622 acres (252 hectares) of which 7,500 ft (2,300 m) of waterfront, campgrounds, 4 mi (6.4 km) of hiking trails, and facilities for boating, fishing, swimming, and golfing are maintained.
