The Wenatchee Confluence State Park since 1990, a recreation and bird sanctuary at the mouth of the Wenatchee River in the Columbia River . It is located north of the city of Wenatchee in Chelan County in the US state of Washington . The 80-acre state park is split in half by the Wenatchee River.
The banks on both sides and the southern part are designed as a nature reserve with marshland , canals, islands and hiking trails. Muskrat , beaver and over 200 species of birds are found in the area registered as the Horan Natural Area . These include swallow gulls , common gulls and Aztec gulls , as well as arctic terns , crab herons , green herons and magnolia warblers . Bald eagles , common loons , North American wigeon , teal, and wood duck can be spotted from the footbridge that connects the two areas. Flycatcher , western kingbird , gray catbird , downy woodpecker , cedar waxwing , and the swallow species such as violet-green swallow , barn swallow , Tree Swallow get there also.
In the northern area there are various bathing, sports and recreation facilities as well as overnight accommodation for campers. In the years from 2002 to 2006, the annual number of overnight stays was between 36,053 and 40,267 guests. The number of day visitors was between 209,080 and 480,886 people during the period.
