Kathryn Bridget Moynahan (born April 28, 1971 in Binghamton , New York ) is an American actress and model .

life and career

She moved to Longmeadow, Massachusetts, with her father, a University of Massachusetts Amherst scientist and administrator , and her mother and two brothers when she was seven . There she graduated from Longmeadow High in 1989, attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and signed her first modeling contract. When she was 18, she moved to New York City , where she modeled for magazines such as Glamor and Vogue before studying to be an actor at Caymichael Patten Studio.

In 2000 she made her acting debut in Coyote Ugly . In the same year she played Natasha in seven episodes of the television series Sex and the City . This was followed by films such as The Attack (2002) with Ben Affleck and The Use (2003) with Colin Farrell and Al Pacino . In 2004, she embodied the SiFi film I, Robot alongside Will Smith , the scientist Dr. Susan Calvin, who doesn't want to turn off a soulful robot named Sonny. In the political thriller Lord of War she played the role of Ava Fontaine Orlov as the wife of Nicolas Cage's character. The ABC series Six Degrees , in which she played a PR manager from 2006, was ended after one season.

In November 2009, she signed a contract for Garnier's advertising campaign . In the 2010 film Ramona and Beezus , directed by Elizabeth Allen, she played the mother of the characters of Joey King and Selena Gomez . Since 2010 she has been in the CBS television series Blue Bloods - Crime Scene New York in a leading role as prosecutor Erin Reagan in front of the camera.

Moynahan was in a relationship with Tom Brady , quarterback for the New England Patriots , until December 2006 ; in August 2007 she gave birth to a son. She has been married to the entrepreneur Andrew Frankel since October 2015.
