The Burgstall Angersbach is an abandoned castle in the middle of the district Angersbach of the municipality Wartenberg in the Vogelsbergkreis in Hesse .
description
The Angersbach nobles must have built the small Talburg in the village before 1232. After the construction of the Wartenberg Castle , they were also named von Wartenberg in a document . The noble family of those von Wartenberg belonged to the service aristocracy of the Fulda monastery and as ministerial they were subordinate to the abbot as overlords and as vassals to the counts of Ziegenhain as bailiffs.
The remains of the walls and foundations of the castle stable are now built over with residential houses.
