Carl Moritz Wenzel von Dobschütz
Carl Moritz Wenzel von Dobschütz (born October 8, 1726 in Rosen , Brieg district ; † March 20, 1807 in Oels ) was a Prussian major general and lord of Gut Simmelwitz, Namslau district , which he had sold in 1785, which is why he retired from 1791 lived in Oels.

Dobschütz was the son of the electoral Saxon stable master in Dresden Carl Friedrich von Dobschütz , lord of Gut Damnig and heir to Leschna and Wachow, all of the Rosenberg district , and Maria Helena von Zedlitz from the Laasan-Faulbrück family.
He married Charlotte Juliane Margarethe von Gruttschreiber on October 12, 1773 in Oels (* October 8, 1747 at Gut Pästelwitz, Oels district ; † February 11, 1803 in Oels), the daughter of the District President of the Duchy of Oels and Consistorial President Carl Ferdinand von Gruttschreiber . The couple had two daughters and four sons.
The second-born son, the Prussian Lieutenant Colonel Adolph Wenzel Moritz von Dobschütz (1776–1832), served during the Wars of Liberation as a staff captain and company commander under his relative, the Prussian cavalry general Leopold Wilhelm von Dobschütz (1763–1836), the "liberator of Wittenberg " .
His grandson Moritz Julius von Dobschütz (1831–1913) emigrated to the USA in 1856 , from 1858 to Belleville ( Illinois ), and was the progenitor of a fifth generation of the “Dobschutz” family in the USA.

- 1758: Prime Lieutenant on May 10th
- 1765: Staff captain in the "von Thile" infantry regiment on October 30th
- 1773: Captain and company commander in the infantry regiment "von Zaremba"
- 1778: Major on February 6th
- 1778/79: Participation in the War of the Bavarian Succession .
- 1784: Commander of the Grenadier Battalion "von Ellert"
- 1785: Battalion commander in the "Prinz Heinrich" infantry regiment
- 1787: Lieutenant Colonel on May 26th
- 1789: Colonel May 28th
- 1791: Farewell as major general with a pension of 600 Reichstalers on March 30th
In August 1791 Dobschütz asked for his pension to be increased, as it was impossible for him to support his family and especially to give his four “uneducated” children an adequate education, but this request was immediately made by the General Disability Pension Commission declined.
Dobschütz died of old age on March 20, 1807 and was buried on March 24, next to his wife, who had already died in 1803, in the family crypt in the ducal castle church in Oels.
