geography
The place is about 45 kilometers southeast of Bordeaux , neighboring places are:
- Saint-Martin-de-Sescas and Caudrot in the north,
- Barie in the northeast,
- Castillon-de-Castets in the southeast,
- Bieujac in the south,
- Saint-Loubert to the west and
- Saint-Pardon-de-Conques and Saint-Pierre-d'Aurillac to the north-west.
The area is crossed by the Garonne River and its tributary Beuve .
shipping
To the north of the town the canal Canal latéral à la Garonne (German: Garonne-Seitenkanal ) flows into the river Garonne. The Garonne Lateral Canal begins in Toulouse , where it connects to the Canal du Midi , and ends at Castets-en-Dorthe. Further downstream, the Garonne is directly navigable by ships and, in connection with its Gironde estuary, allows ships to reach the Atlantic Ocean . The shipping route thus connects the Atlantic with the Mediterranean and is therefore also known as the Canal des Deux Mers . Today, cargo shipping has become meaningless here, sport boats and houseboats use this connection all the more and form a tourist source of income for the places on the canal.
