Charles Albert Reynolds (born November 10, 1848 in Leaksville , North Carolina , † June 2, 1936 in Colfax , North Carolina) was an American civil engineer and politician ( Republican Party ).

Career

Charles Albert Reynolds, son of Sarah "Jane" Fewell and Dr. Thomas Edwin Reynolds, was involved in the construction of North Carolina's first hydroelectric power station on the Yadkin River in 1897 . In addition to his work as a civil engineer, Reynolds pursued a political career. He was lieutenant governor of the state of North Carolina between 1897 and 1901 . He then ran unsuccessfully for the fifth constituency of North Carolina in the US House of Representatives in 1904 and 1906 . Reynolds died on July 2, 1936 in Colfax and was then buried in Episcopal Church Cemetery in Leaksville.
