Charlie Glass (* thirtieth January 1967 as Karl Jürgen glass in Munich ) is a German pianist , singer , composer and music producer . As a solo pianist and singer, Glass interprets and composes popular repertoire, as well as jazz and rock songs . Since 1985 he has released solo albums and music productions, including the Sony Music series Charlie Glass' children's songs .

Life

Glass was born as the first and only son of the artist couple Clarissa and Charlie Glas ( artist name ) in Munich. His mother Maria geb. Kaspar, (* 1927 in Eggenfelden ) was a classical dancer . His father, real name: Karl Georg Glas, (* 1920 in Freising ), was a singer , guitarist and composer . Charlie Glass' parents toured Europe as a singing duo for 20 years. After Charlie was born, they ended their active musical career. In his childhood there was a lot of music in his parents' house in Munich and his parents began to intensively promote their son's musical interest. At the age of six he began his piano training with daily lessons. Best friend of his parents was the pianist and big band - Leader Joe Wick (discoverer of Max Greger sen.), Who taught the young Charlie over ten years at the piano. At the age of 15, Charlie played with much older musicians in a show band and earned his first money with music. As a teen he wrote songs all the time and dreamed of recording them on vinyl at some point. Producer and singer Fancy (Tess Teiges) hired Charlie in 1984 at the age of 17 as a keyboardist and arranger for his studio projects. In 1985 , Josef Schörghuber signed an annual contract with the young pianist and singer for his Hotel Arabella in Munich. Shortly afterwards the first record deal followed and Karl Jürgen Glas became Charlie Glass.

Between 1985 and 2015 Charlie Glass played as a solo pianist with vocals at numerous international events and concerts.

Charlie Glass lives on the Ammersee , is married and has two sons.

Act

In 1985 he built a small recording studio in his parents' house and arranged for Grant Miller and Linda Joe Rizzo. 1986 came out the solo debut: Charlie G. - Llama lamor ZYX Music . In 1988 Glass composed the chart hit “ Fools Cry” for Fancy at 3rd place in Media Control ZDF Hitparade . He also arranged and recorded the album of the same name for Wolfgang Fierek in his own studio. Charlie Glass founded and produced the Jam Tronik project in 1989 . “Another Day in Paradise” (composer Phil Collins ) placed 17th in the German charts, in England the single reached Top 20. In 1990 he composed the song “Mauerblümchen” for the Brazil-Bavarian duo Isarflimmern with Bernd Demokratie . Hans R. Beierlein signed the act and let Glass produce an album. Isarflimmern was a permanent guest on the RTL show Heimatmelodie, the golden hit parade of folk music, as well as on ZDF. In 1991 Charlie Glass arranged “Marathon Mann” (Ariola) for Udo Jürgens . 1992 the dance classic "Stand by me" for Jam Tronik which Glass produces exclusively. The disco version of Meat Loaf's ballad Jam Tronik "I'd do Anything for Love" reached number 15 in Austria in 1994.

1995 was the establishment of the own record label Golden Grammophon. The solo project: "I'll love you the rest of my life Josephine" was published (Radio Franken Platz 1). Glass moved to GIB Music in 1996. The 3 CDs will be released: Garden of Eden, The Moment and Beautiful. Together with Armin Haberkorn, Glass produced " Mixed Emotions " Bring Back ( EMI ) for Drafi Deutscher in 1999 , and he also arranged "Just for You" for the album (German Longplay Charts No. 27). Glass also composed a song for the Eurovision Song Contest (ARD) in 2000: “We can move a mountain” achieved 5th place in the German decision. Countdown Grand Prix 2000 Jupiter Records, Ralph Siegel . Dieter Thomas Heck presented the new Jacob Sisters song on ZDF : Men, Men, Men (music and text: Charlie Glass / Hamid Varzi). In 2001 he arranged “Were is my man” for the artist Eartha Kitt and composed the soundtrack “The secret gallery” Zyx for the magicians “ Siegfried & Roy ” (Las Vegas) . The singer-songwriter “Album Ladies World” was released in 2002 on Golden Grammophon Records. After two years of construction, Charlie Glass opened the Stardust recording studios at Ammersee in 2005. Glass composes and produces corporate songs for companies in the business world. Melodies were created for Kreissparkassen , Bayerische Landesbank , Unicredit Bank , LV 1871 Lebensversicherung, Südchemie, Caterpillar Zeppelin , Bosch , K&L Ruppert , SAF-Holland, Fregate Island (Seychelles), Bio Hotel Stanglwirt, Andechser Natur . Charlie Glass, lyricist Robert Jung and Alex Prechtl wrote a song for Munich in 2008 to mark the 750th anniversary. Roberto Blanco interpreted the song: Munich means ..... The label “Golden Grammophon” established itself in 2010 on the digital music market. In 2011 Glass and his production partner Alex Prechtl achieved first place in the iTunes charts (music for children) with their piano project “Children's Songs”. Sony Music took over the series in 2013 . Eight CDs and one double album have been released so far. Also on the album “The Ultimate Piano Lounge” Charlie Glass interpreted the great classics only solo with singing on the piano. “Big City Bar” (Warner) is published by Nera & Charlie with the lounge waltz “Better now”. In 2015 Glass and Alex Prechtl produced for the new children's series "Lena, Felix & die Kita-Kids" (Sony Europa Family Entertainment).
