Charlott Boss (* 12. January 1990 in Schwäbisch Hall as Charlotte Bühler ) is a German singer and songwriter , which are predominantly in the field of electronic dance music acts. She first became known in 2011 as part of the electronics duo Nod One's Head . After its dissolution in 2018, she appeared for the first time in 2019 under her current pseudonym. In addition to her solo career, she is also active as a songwriter and guest singer for musicians such as Alle Farben , Scooter and Jebroer . The songs she wrote and sung Friday, Saturday and Neighbors from Harris & Ford and Finch Antisocial mark her most successful recordings.

Life and education

Bühler was born on January 12, 1990 in Schwäbisch Hall. She attended high school near St. Michael Schwäbisch Hall and graduated from high school in 2010 at a boarding school on Lake Constance . This was followed by a degree in motion design in Berlin, which she completed in 2014.

In 2011 she founded the music project Nod One's Head together with her fellow student Moritz Bommert . Here she contributed the vocals, while Bommert was responsible for the synthesizers and programming . Her music has been played on BBC One , among others . The debut album Lava was released on August 14, 2015. The title track and Bad Blood were released in advance . Live performances at Melt , Dockville and the Berlin Festival followed.

In the summer of 2015, the band was part of the 19th season of the Startrampe , a newcomer format on the PULS broadcasting company of Bayerischer Rundfunk .

On February 26, 2016, the duo split due to different interests. For the time being, Bühler continued the project alone and was supported by various musicians on their live performances. The first single since Bommert's departure was released in September 2016. This was entitled I'm Mad . The song I Like It What It Is followed in December 2016 .

In November 2018 the last single for the time being was released, which was released under the name Nod One's Dead. This was called Ocean and was created in collaboration with the German DJ and producer Dayne S.

Career as a solo artist

On January 24, 2019, she released the single Until We Die together with the Australian Complextro-Bounce producer Brynny . At this she appeared for the first time under the stage name Charlott Boss . The single Therapy followed in October 2019 . She worked with Australian DJ and producer Timmy Trumpet to create it . In February 2020, another collaboration with Timmy Trumpet appeared with the song Dumb . At the same time, she released the single Over & Out together with the American DJ and producer KSHMR and the Malaysian producer Hard Lights . On July 10, 2020, the single Pablo Escobar was released for the creation of which she collaborated with the Brazilian DJ duo Dubdogz.

Songwriting career

In 2016, Bühler first acted as a songwriter. Together with Philipp Kroch she wrote the song Roof Bay for the German DJ and producer Alle Farben . The title was part of his second studio album Music Is My Best Friend . In 2018 she worked as both songwriter and singer of the song Hit the Sky by the Dutch hardstyle duo Ransom.

In May 2019 the song On & Off , written by her, was released , produced by the Dutch tropical house producer Steve Reece and sung by the British singer-songwriter Timothy Auld. Here she can also be heard as a background singer. On May 3, 2019, the Austrian DJ duo Harris & Ford released the title Friday, Saturday together with the German rapper Finch Asozial . The song, in which Bühler contributed both the text and the female vocal part, marked her first position in the German single charts.

The Extended Play Party EP by the German DJ duo Anstandslos & Durchgeknallt , which was released in August 2019, contains the songs she wrote, Schnaps and Deine Mum . Another collaboration with Harris & Ford followed on September 20, 2019. This was called Break the Beat and was created together with the Italian EDM duo Vinai . At this she could be heard as a singer. In October 2019 the song Devil's Symphony by the German EDM group Scooter was released , in which she participated in the songwriting. She also contributed the female vocal part.

In January 2020 the single Sandmann by the German DJ and producer Le Shuuk was released . Here she was involved in songwriting as well as singing. On January 17th, 2020 month, the Belgian singer-songwriter released the song Something I Said, written with her . In the same month, the Berlin musician Llucid presented the song Sweater, written by Bühler, and the Italian DJ duo Marnik presented the song Made of Stars, which she wrote together with her . For the latter, the Dutch songwriter PollyAnna took over the vocals.

On March 13, 2020 the German DJ and producer Tujamo released the song One Million in collaboration with the Brazilian DJ and producer Lotten , in which she was a songwriter and singer. On March 20, 2020, the Dutch rapper Jebroer released the song Doomsday Hymnen , which he produced together with the hardstyle DJ Adosa. The song served as a harbinger for Jebroer's second German-language studio album Sechs , for whose creation Bühler assisted on six of the seven tracks as a songwriter and sometimes also as a singer. It was released on July 24, 2020. Also on March 20, 2020, the Swiss musician Nicolas Haelg released the song Scars at Night , written by her , which includes vocals by Britain's Got Talent participant Jamie Lee Harrison.

After she was heard in April 2020 as the singer of the song Satellites by the Russian DJ and producer Rompasso, another collaboration with the Australian DJ Timmy Trumpet appeared in May 2020. Together with the Dutch DJ and producer R3hab and the vocals from Bühler, the single 911 was released. Only a few days later she was in charge of the vocals for the song Like a Punk for the German EDM projects Younotus and AKA AKA . Also in May 2020 the single Seesaw by the Dutch producer Ummet Ozcan was released , who lent Bühler's voice for the song.

On June 5, 2020, the Dutch house producer Lulleaux released the song Limbo together with the German producer Strobe and Bühler as a guest singer . She wrote the title Mad Love for the German DJ duo Bodybangers , which was interpreted together with the German EDM duo Lizot and the American singer byMia. As a songwriter and background singer, she joined the party music project Schokkverliebt of the artists Mia Julia and Frenzy Blitz, whose first single Brave Mädchen was released in June 2020. At the same time, the song Troubles , written by her and sung by Sedric Perry, was released , which in turn was produced by the German future house DJ Keanu Silva .

In July 2020 Bühler was hired as the singer of the title Candlelight , which appeared as the second collaboration with the German duo Lizot after Mad Love . She also took over the songwriting and female vocals for a Harris & Ford production once again. This resulted in the song Neighbors , in the course of which she met Finch Asocial again. The song reached number 74 in the German single charts. In August 2020, the song Anywhere by British producer Oli Harper followed. The track is sung by the British musician Richard Judge. At the same time, the fourth collaboration with Timmy Trumpet appeared. She contributed the vocals and lyrics of the song Mars .
