Tujamo (born January 18, 1988 in Detmold ; actually Matthias Richter ) is a German DJ and music producer . He celebrated his greatest success with the title Delirious (Boneless) , a collaboration with Steve Aoki , Chris Lake and Kid Ink in 2014. The single achieved gold and platinum status in Canada and gold status in the US and Australia. The title Drop That Low (When I Dip) also contributed significantly to Tujamo's popularity in the scene. In addition to his own singles, Tujamo also published numerous remixes for well-known artists such as u. a. Tiesto , David Guetta and Justin Bieber and has performed at festivals such as Airbeat One , New Horizons and Ushuaïa .

Career

Matthias Richter's activity as a DJ began at the age of 17. In 2007 he won a DJ competition at Club Index in Schüttorf and became a resident DJ there. The stage name Tujamo was created in 2008 in collaboration with a friend of Richter, who then took a different musical direction and left the project. Then Richter began to produce his own tracks. He achieved his first major success in 2012 together with the German DJ duo Plastik Funk and the title Who , which reached number two in the German dance charts . In 2014, a vocal version of the track entitled Dr. Who in collaboration with the rapper Sneakbo. The track was able to achieve a placement in the official British singles charts.

In the same year Richter co-produced the title Boneless with Steve Aoki and Chris Lake . A few months later, the trio began working on a vocal version of the song. They hired Jenson Vaughan as songwriter and Kid Ink as singer and rapper . The remix made it into the singles charts of the USA and Canada.

Tujamo landed another success in collaboration with the DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and the Brazilian producer duo Felguk. The song Nova was released in September 2014 on the record label Smash the House . In 2015 he released his solo single Booty Bounce , which became a huge club hit. Here, too, a vocal version was released, which the producer recorded together with singer Taio Cruz , which brought the song first chart positions. He also published the title Christmas Bounce on his Soundcloud channel , which is like Booty Bounce ; however, the drop was designed in the tune of Jingle Bells . In October 2015 Tujamo entered the DJ Mag Top 100 for the first time . There it reached number 95. By 2019, it moved up to number 43.

On March 21, 2016, the song Drop That Low (When I Dip) was released , a cover for the 2012 single When I Dip by the Bingo Players . This became a great success in the EDM scene and sat at the top of the Beatport chart for around a week and already had over 30 million views on Facebook after one year. With the release Keep Pushin ' followed a single with Inaya Day. The track BOOM! was released on September 12, 2016. In addition to its typical sounds, this is based on a constantly repeating boom vocal loop. This moved up to third place on Beatport and counted several million views after a few months. Make U Love Me was released on February 13, 2017 as a crossover with lots of funk and future house elements.

In 2017 the single One On One was released together with the singer Sorana. The track was nominated at the World Dance Music Radio Awards in the "Best Trending Track" category. The following year, Tujamo released a remake of the song Riverside by DJ and producer Sidney Samson from 2009. Furthermore , another commercial single was released with the track Body Language , which was created in collaboration with Miranda Glory and Haris. On June 18, 2017, Tujamo released the track Funk You together with producer La Fuente , which embodies a mixture of future and electro house .

His single Getting Money with 808Charmer was released in 2019 and rose to number 1 on the electro house charts on Beatport , where it lasted for over 3 weeks. Tujamo achieved further first-place placements in the same year with Get Up and Candy on the Dancefloor ; The latter was also nominated in the Dance Single category of the Radio NRJ DJ Awards 2019 in France. After all, Tujamo rose to be the best-selling artist of all time in the electro house genre on Beatport in 2019.
