Danny Ávila (born April 1, 1995 in Madrid ) is a Spanish DJ in the field of house and electro-house . He drew attention in particular through his early appearances at major music festivals as well as through his single Tronco .

Career

Danny Ávila played his first live set at a Spanish club called Kapital in 2010. In 2011 he was named "Best Newcomer DJ" at the Vicious Music Awards. After gaining some DJing experience, he became Resident DJ of the Summer 2012 at the Beach Club Blue Marlin in Ibiza .

In September 2012 he took part in the Generation Wild Tour, with Deniz Koyu, Mikael Weermets, Sick Individuals and dBerrie. Due to the positive response, he was booked for the Ultra Music Festival 2013 in Miami . Furthermore, his debut single Breaking Your Fall was released in November 2012 on "Big Beat Records". This already contains the strong influence of his later house style, although this is characterized even less by aggressive beats and much more by elements of progressive house. Avila received strong positive feedback for the track and was particularly praised for the quality of the song. Later in the year he received strong support from the radio station " BigCityBeats ". Shortly afterwards he also started his podcast series Ready to Jump .

After his successful performance at the Ultra Music Festival 2013, he signed a contract with MGM in Las Vegas and became the youngest resident DJ in the Hakkasan Club. There he performed with artists such as Steve Aoki , Laidback Luke , Deadmau5 , Tommy Trash , Tiësto and Calvin Harris . Billboard magazine then called it "one to watch". In March 2013 he played at the Energy Festival 2013 in the Dutch Ziggo Dome . There he played a selection of his own upcoming songs in addition to the songs of well-known producers.

At the same time, the successful Dutch label " Spinnin 'Records " showed interest and offered him a record deal. Avila accepted the offer and on July 7, 2013 he published his track Voltage , which was heavily influenced by the currently very popular big room house. Only a month later he followed up with Tronco on Tiësto's label "Musical Freedom". Tronco quickly gained popularity and was also able to advance to number 18 in the Beatport charts, and even reached the top 5 in the genre charts. The track was also supported by great DJs such as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike , W&W and Showtek . In Great Britain he could be heard at the Ministry of Sound Festival and the BBC Radio, among others .

Later in 2013 the electro house tracks Rasta Funk and Poseidon also appeared , which brought him further placements in the Beatport charts. He toured all over Europe and played in numerous clubs and at several festivals. His sets at Nature One in Germany and Mayday in Poland stand out in particular . He also made guest appearances on podcasts from other well-known DJs and was selected together with Calvin Harris and Tiësto to produce the Essential Mix of 2013, in which the best dance tracks of the year are played in a two-hour radio show.

Danny Avila at Mayday 2015

In 2014 Danny Avila started with the single Rock the Place . The track was created in collaboration with the DJ duo Twoloud , which has long been suspected as a collaboration between Hardwell and Tiësto. However, it turned out that the German musicians Manian and D-Style are behind it. Rock the Place was a success. On the one hand, they achieved a placement in the Beatport charts and numerous positive reviews, in which, among other things, the variation between progressive and electro house and the melody of the lead were praised. In November 2014 a collaboration with the French producer Merzo, who is particularly known for his remakes and bootlegs, appeared. The title was called Boom! and could be classified in the area of the big room.

Together with Milk & Sugar , Paul van Dyk , Robin Schulz , R3hab , Kenneth G and Brennan Heart, he opened 2015 in the so-called “Energy Mastermix” for NRJ radio. A month later he followed up on another master mix for Energy in collaboration with Timmy Trumpet , Laidback Luke and Blasterjaxx . Several of this variety followed throughout the year. In May 2015 he released the single Plastik on "Playbox". From June 5 to 7, 2015, the BigCityBeats World Club Dome 2015 took place in Frankfurt , although it did not DJ there, as in the previous year, but he was one of the young DJs alongside Kygo , Martin Garrix and Julian Jordan selected most chances of future success. When it was broadcast on television, the song Tronco achieved a new sensation and suddenly reached high positions in the German iTunes charts. The song Close Your Eyes , a collaboration with the Swedish DJ and producer Kazee, was also released as a single on “Playbox” in early August 2015 . This is a progressive house track.

After concentrating on his tour for the time being, Avila released the song High in 2017 , which was created in collaboration with singer Haliene. Here, as well as with his successful remix for Gavin James ' I Don't Know Why , he was influenced by the sounds of tropical house and future bass , which were popular at the time . In the fall of the year he released the big room track Loco , which ultimately turned out to be a collaboration with the DJane duo Nervo . Hip-hop Reverie also took part in the song.
