Christian Frosch (director)
Christian Frosch (* 1966 in Waidhofen an der Thaya ) is an Austrian film director , screenwriter and film producer .
Life
Christian Frosch completed his photography training at the Federal Higher Graphic Education and Research Institute in Vienna . He then first attended the Vienna Film Academy , later he switched to the German Film and Television Academy Berlin , where he successfully completed his studies.
He was awarded the Carl Mayer Screenplay Prize for the screenplay for his cinema debut Die totaleherapie (1996) with Blixa Bargeld . His second feature film k.af.ka fragment (2001) with Lars Rudolph in the role of Franz Kafka received the Pearl of the World Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and the special jury award at the Kinotawr film festival in Sochi . In 2002 he founded the production company weltfilm together with Kristina Konrad and Ursula Scribano . For the film From now on no turning back (2014) he was awarded the Austrian Film Prize 2016 in the category Best Screenplay , the film was also awarded the Diagonale Audience Award 2015 and as part of the Edition Austrian Film by Hoanzl and the Standard released on DVD. In 2017 he shot the film Murer - Anatomy of a Process with Karl Fischer in the role of Franz Murer , for which Christian Frosch also wrote the screenplay.
Christian Frosch is a member of the Academy of the Austrian film , in association film directing Austria and the Austrian Directors Association and the screenplay Forum Vienna . He lives in Berlin and Baden near Vienna .
