Cinja Tillmann (born July 13, 1991 in Senden ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career indoor volleyball

Cinja Tillmann started with volleyball at her home club ASV Senden . In 2009 she moved to USC Münster , where she played as a setter and outside attacker for the second team in the second division . Tillmann also had a few appearances in the USC's first division team. In 2015 she moved to the second division club Bayer Leverkusen , with whom she was champion of the northern season the following season . In the 2016/17 season she played for the league competitor TV Gladbeck .

Career beach volleyball

From 2009 Tillmann played beach volleyball with her club mate Teresa Mersmann . In their first season they finished ninth at the U20 European Championships in Kos . In 2010 Tillmann became German U20 champion alongside Isabel Schneider and U20 European champion in Catania with Christine Aulenbrock . Schneider / Tillmann took ninth place at the German championships .

In 2011 Tillmann reached fifth place with Teresa Mersmann at the U23 European Championship in Porto and with Victoria Bieneck at the U21 World Championship in Halifax . Mersmann / Tillmann were also able to establish themselves among the national leaders. So they reached ninth place at the German Championships in 2011 and won the bronze medal in 2012. At the student world championships in Maceió (BRA) the two reached the knockout round, but had to give up there because of an illness of Mersmann and thus finished 17th. At the end of the 2012 season, Mersmann and Tillmann separated.

In 2013 Tillmann played beach volleyball with Christine Aulenbrock for Hamburger SV . They finished fifth at the U23 World Cup in Poland in June. On the Smart Beach Tour she took second place in Binz and Norderney, fourth place in Mannheim, fifth place each in Kühlungsborn and St. Peter-Ording and seventh place in Hamburg. They finished seventh at the German championships in August. Tillmann played the FIVB Grand Slam in Berlin with Chantal Laboreur and reached 17th place.

Because of a break in Aulenbrock's competitive sport, Tillmann formed a duo with Katharina Schillerwein from 2014 . In Hamburg they could win the Super Cup of the Smart Beach Tour. They took second place in Binz, third place in Nuremberg, fifth in Münster and seventh in Cologne. In Dresden they defeated Jana Köhler and Anni Schumacher in the final of the Beach Cup . On the CEV Tour they came fourth at the Satellite in Antalya and third at the Satellite in Vaduz. As in the previous year, Cinja Tillmann and her partner took seventh place at the German championships .

2015 was the most successful season for Schillerwein / Tillmann. With five victories this year on the highest-ranking national Smart Beach Tour in Hamburg , Dresden , Binz , St. Peter-Ording and Nuremberg , they set a historic record from 2001. In August 2015 they also won the CEV satellite in Timișoara, Romania . At the German championships , Schillerwein / Tillmann took fifth place.

2016 started for Schillerwein / Tillmann with a victory at the Smart Beach Supercup in Münster . The CEV satellite in Ankara finished the native broadcaster with interim partner Sandra Seyfferth on the bronze rank. At the German championships , Schillerwein / Tillmann took ninth place. Then Tillmann won the CEV Satellite tournament in Barcelona with Sandra Ittlinger and in 2017 with Schillerwein in Vilnius and Mersin. After finishing fifth in the 2017 German Championship , Schillerwein ended her beach volleyball career.

Teresa Mersmann was her partner again from the end of 2017 to the end of 2018. On the FIVB World Tour , Mersmann / Tillmann won the 1-star tournament in Baden, Austria, and the 3-star tournament in Tokyo in 2018. They won the Techniker Beach Tour in Münster, Nuremberg and Kühlungsborn. They finished third in the German Championship . Tillmann has been playing alongside Kim Behrens since 2019 .
