Colin Kâzım-Richards (born August 26, 1986 in Leytonstone , London , England ), mainly known as Kâzım Kâzım in Turkey , is a football player .
Life
Kâzım-Richards was born in the London borough of Leytonstone, the son of an Antiguan and a Cypriot Turk . In Waltham he then went to Greenleaf Primary School. There he became interested in football from an early age. He played for the school team at Aveling Park School in Walthamstow. He started his professional career in Bury at the age of 15. There he developed so well that larger clubs took notice of him.
Career
In the club
Brighton
At 19, he signed a three-year deal with Brighton for £ 250,000. In the 2005/06 season he scored six goals for his club and even the 5,000th in the history of the league.
Sheffield United
On August 31, 2006, Brighton sold him to Sheffield United for £ 1,500,000 . Kâzım-Richards helped his team win their first Premier League victory against Middlesbrough FC on September 30th . With his submission, Rob Hulse was able to achieve the 2-1. Kâzım-Richards scored his first Premier League goal, his first and only goal for Sheffield United against Bolton Wanderers . Fenerbahçe Istanbul
For the 2007/2008 season he moved to Turkey to Fenerbahçe Istanbul for four years . The fee was 1.9 million euros. He played his first game for Fenerbahçe on August 5, 2007 in the Turkish Supercup game against local rivals Beşiktaş Istanbul . He scored his first goal for Fenerbahçe on January 23, 2008 in the cup match against Alanyaspor . His contract with Fenerbahçe runs until June 30, 2011 and includes a fixed transfer fee of around 10 million euros.
For the 2009/2010 season Kâzım-Richards convinced at the beginning of the first half of the season scored 3 goals in the first 7 games of the season, but in the further course of the first half of the season he was more likely to have antics on and off the field than with performance. So the Fenerbahçe President Aziz Yıldırım decided to suspend him. The President gave him clearance if he got a good offer to let him go. Since there were no good offers in the episode, he was awarded to Toulouse FC. During the winter break of the 2010/11 season, his contract with Fenerbahçe was dissolved.
Toulouse FC (loan)
In January 2010 he was loaned to FC Toulouse , initially until the end of the season; in addition, Toulouse had a purchase option of 4 million euros. Since he was not convincing there, the French did not take the purchase option. So he returned to Fenerbahçe Istanbul for a second chance.
Galatasaray Istanbul
Colin Kazim Richards moved to local rivals Galatasaray Istanbul on a free transfer after terminating his contract at Fenerbahçe . His contract runs until June 2014. He wears the number 80. In his first game for Galatasaray in the cup match against Beypazari Sekerspor, he scored both an assist and a goal. Richards scored his first league goal for Galatasaray on March 18, 2011 against arch-rivals Fenerbahce Istanbul.
Olympiacos Piraeus
Richards was loaned to the Greek club Olympiacos for the remainder of the 2011/12 season. The Greeks had a purchase option that was 1.5 million euros. Bananas were thrown at his first soccer game in Greece.
Blackburn Rovers
Colin Kâzım-Richards was loaned to the English second division Blackburn Rovers for the 2012/13 season.
Bursaspor and Feyenoord Rotterdam
On September 3, 2013, Richards moved to Bursaspor . It was awarded by Bursaspor to Feyenoord Rotterdam in the 2014/15 season . In 25 games this season he scored 10 goals and was then firmly committed. In January 2016 he was suspended from Rotterdam after physically attacking a journalist.
Celtic Glasgow
On February 1, 2016, Kâzım-Richards moved to Celtic Glasgow in Scotland . With Celtic he was Scottish champion.
Brazil
In June 2016, Kâzım-Richards changed clubs and signed a contract with Coritiba FC in Brazil . Kâzım-Richards stayed with the club until the end of the season . In January 2017 he moved to Corinthians São Paulo .
Mexico
In July 2018, Kâzım-Richards moved to Lobos de la BUAP in Mexico . In 2019 Richards played for CD Veracruz and switched to CF Pachuca in 2020 .
In the national team
Because of his maternal descent, Colin was eligible to play for Turkey. In theory, he could have played for Antigua or England . Ultimately, he chose Turkey. On March 24, 2007 Colin Kâzım-Richards made his debut for the Turkish U-21 national team against Switzerland , in the game he also scored his first goal and prepared a goal.
Kâzım Kâzım was appointed to the Turkish squad by the Turkish national coach for the 2008 European Championship in Switzerland and Austria .
Kâzim Kâzim played his last international match for Turkey in a friendly against Luxembourg on March 31, 2015.

Kâzım-Richards is married to a Brazilian woman from Guarulhos and has two children. His Turkish-Cypriot, Muslim mother was evacuated from the Mediterranean island of Cyprus after the 1974 military coup . His father is a Rastafarian from Antigua .
