Corey Wayne Brewer (born March 5, 1986 in Portland , Tennessee ) is an American basketball player who has played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) since 2007 .

Career

college

Brewer played for the University of Florida basketball team for three years . In 2006 and 2007 he won the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship with Joakim Noah and Al Horford . All three players then signed up for the 2007 NBA draft .

NBA

Brewer was selected as the seventh player by the Minnesota Timberwolves . In four seasons with the Wolves Brewer could not prevail, so he was transferred to the New York Knicks in February 2011 . For the Knicks, Brewer completed no game and was instead released from his contract on March 1, 2011, making him a free agent .

The Dallas Mavericks signed Brewer on March 3, 2011 and equipped him with a three-year contract. At the end of the 2011 season he won the NBA championship with the Mavericks.

Before the start of the 2011/12 NBA season, he was transferred from the Mavs along with Rudy Fernandez to the Denver Nuggets . After his contract expired in the summer of 2013, Brewer moved back to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In December 2014, Brewer was given to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Troy Daniels . In 2018 he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In 2019, Brewer signed two 10-day contracts with the Philadelphia 76ers , then one until the end of the season with the Sacramento Kings . He signed another one in the following season in June 2020.
