Cory Urquhart (born October 1, 1984 in Halifax , Nova Scotia ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Heilbronner Falken from the 2nd Bundesliga .

Career

The 1.90 m tall center initially played in the Canadian junior league QMJHL , where he ran between 2000 and 2004 for the Remparts de Québec and the Rocket de Montréal and their successor team, the PEI Rocket .

For the 2004/05 season Urquhart was signed by the Hamilton Bulldogs from the American Hockey League , but these initially use him almost exclusively for their farm teams Long Beach Ice Dogs and Cincinnati Cyclones in the East Coast Hockey League . It was not until the 2006/07 season that the Canadian received more ice time in the AHL and won the Calder Cup , the championship trophy of the AHL , with the Bulldogs at the end of the season . During the following season Urquhart moved to the Arizona Sundogs in the Central Hockey League .

In the summer of 2008, the right-handed shooter signed a contract with the Springfield Falcons , who also use him most of the time in the ECHL, so that Urquhart moved from the Stockton Thunder farm team to Germany to the Heilbronner Falcons in the 2nd Bundesliga after the season .

In June 2010 he signed a one-year contract with the Kölner Haie, but returned to the Heilbronner Falken after a year and 57 DEL games for the Haie.
