action

Michael Zane is released from prison. By chance he meets Cybil Waingrow, whose son Jesse proves to be thieving and steals both the valve caps of his '59 Cadillac and his money for a short time. After a lazy hour, Zane sets off with his former fellow inmate Thomas J. Murphy and three other accomplices to Las Vegas to rob a casino during a convention of Presley impersonators dressed in Elvis Presley costumes . They loot over 2 million US dollars, but one of the gangsters is fatally wounded in the shooting with the security personnel. The robbers can escape by helicopter at the last second. In their hiding place, the division of the booty leads to an argument and Murphy shoots his accomplice Hanson, secretly observed by little Jesse. The rest of the gang wants to bury his body, Murphy also kills Zane and Gus, because he wants to keep all the booty to himself.

Zane, who wears a bulletproof vest, survives and looks for Murphy, as do two US marshals. He is inevitably accompanied by his chance acquaintance Cybil and Jesse. However, Cybil turns out to be untrustworthy. The hush money offered to her is not enough, she uses the next best opportunity to run away with Zane's part. Zane is now with the abandoned Jesse in a stolen car. The two become friends. Meanwhile, Murphy sought out money laundering antiques dealer Jay Peterson and murdered him. Shortly afterwards, Cybil also arrives there, believing Murphy was Peterson.

Jesse gives Zane the idea to report his own car, which Murphy has been driving since the robbery, as stolen. A short time later, both Zane and Murphy are arrested for car theft and meet in prison. Jesse issues the bail and Zane is released quickly. He finds the tied up Cybil and the hidden money in the trunk of his car. The two speak out at the next opportunity, Cybil keeps a stake and confesses to Zane her feelings for him. But Zane says goodbye to Cybil and Jesse.

A short time later, Murphy finds Cybil and her son, who is immediately kidnapped by him. Cybil begs Zane for help and the two decide to inform the police about a planned meeting between the two gangsters. Zane rescues Jesse after a shootout and Murphy is brutally shot by the police. In the end, Zane, Cybil and their son sail towards the sea on a boat.

Todd McCarty wrote in Variety magazine that the scenes of violence were brutal and exaggerated.
