The Cygnus Arc , English Cygnus Loop , is a supernova remnant in the constellation Swan .

The emission nebula extends over a section of the sky of approximately three degrees. It is around 1,500 light years from Earth and is divided into several sections. Its most famous part is the cirrus nebula in the optical spectrum. Associated objects include NGC 6960 , NGC 6974 , NGC 6979 , NGC 6992, NGC 6995, and IC 1340 .
