NGC 6729 is a variable nebula (a type of reflection nebula ) in the constellation Corona Australis . The nebula reflects the light emitted by the PMS star R Coronae Australis (R CrA). NGC 6729 has a triangular shape reminiscent of NGC 2261 .
The nebula was discovered by Johann Friedrich Julius Schmidt in 1861.
