NGC 362 is the name of a galactic globular cluster in the constellation Toucan in the southern sky . He is from the Earth seen in the foreground of the outer region of the Small Magellanic Cloud and is about 27,000 light years from the sun away. NGC 362 has an apparent magnitude of +6.40 mag and its core radius is 0.17 arc minutes.
The object was discovered on August 1, 1826 by the Scottish astronomer James Dunlop .
