NGC 363 is a lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Whale south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 503 million light years from the Milky Way and about 90,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 78 , IC 79 , IC 82 .
The object was discovered on November 28, 1885 by the American astronomer Francis Preserved Leavenworth .
