IC 2391 (also known as the Omicron Velorum Cluster ) is a galactic open star cluster in the constellation Vela in the southern sky . The star cluster is about 500 light years away from Earth and is 9 light years across. The object has an apparent brightness of 2 m , 6 and a diameter of 60  arc minutes and contains over 30 stars. IC  2391 can be seen with the naked eye. The star cluster is around 50 million years old.
