GDR championships in boxing 1976
The GDR boxing championships were held for the 28th time in 1976 and took place from March 23rd to 27th in the Schwerin sports and congress hall. 108 boxers took part in the title fights, who determined the champions in eleven weight classes. The ASK forward Frankfurt / O. was the most successful club in this championship with four titles. With Dietmar Geilich , Klaus Gertenbach , Ulrich Beyer , Bernd Wittenburg , Ottomar Sachse and Jürgen Fanghänel , six boxers were able to defend their title from the previous year. This time, Stefan Förster took title honors one weight class lower.
