GDR boxing championships 1983
The GDR boxing championships were held for the 35th time in 1983 and took place from December 6th to 11th in the Erwin-Panndorf -Halle in Gera . The ASK forward Frankfurt / O. was the most successful club in this championship with four titles. With Klaus-Dieter Kirchstein , Frank Rauschning , Siegfried Mehnert , Klaus-Dieter Schmid and Ulli Kaden , five boxers were able to defend their title from the previous year. This time Michael Timm came one weight class higher to title honors.
