GDR boxing championships 1985
The GDR boxing championships were held for the 37th time in 1985 and took place from December 4th to 8th in the Rostock sports and congress hall. 108 boxers took part in the title fights and determined the champions in twelve weight classes. Boxing also took place in Ribnitz-Damgarten (preliminary round / quarter-finals) and Wismar (quarter-finals and semi-finals). The SC Traktor Schwerin was with five titles the most successful club this championship. With Dieter Berg , Klaus-Dieter Kirchstein , Andreas Zülow , Torsten Schmitz , René Suetovius and Ulli Kaden , six boxers were able to defend their title from the previous year.
