GDR championships in boxing 1981
The GDR boxing championships were held for the 33rd time in 1981 and took place from December 7th to 13th in the Schwerin sports and congress hall. 127 boxers took part in the title fights and determined the champions in twelve weight classes. Boxing also took place in Neustadt-Glewe (preliminary round), Ludwigslust , Güstrow and Wismar (each quarter-finals). The SC Traktor Schwerin was hosted with four titles the most successful club this championship. With Dietmar Geilich , Wolfgang Prosch , Dirk Schäfer , Dietmar Schwarz , Jürgen Fanghänel and Ulli Kaden , six boxers were able to defend their title from the previous year.
