Damian Słaboń (born January 28, 1979 in Sosnowiec ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with KS Cracovia in the Ekstraliga since 2004 .

Career

Damian Słaboń began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of GKS Tychy . In 1995 he moved to his hometown, where he made his debut in the Ekstraliga , the top Polish league, for the first team of the Polish Association's youth academy . In the 1996/97 season he took part in the East European Hockey League with Olimpia Sosnowiex . From 1998 to 2001 the center played for the Extraliga participant KTH Krynica before returning to his home club GKS Tychy for the next three years. For the 2004/05 season , the national player switched to KS Cracovia , with whom he won the Polish championship title in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2016 . In 2014 and 2016, he also won the cup competition . In the 2010/11 season he also took part in the Ekstraliga All-Star Game. In 2012 he reached the highest number of assists in the Ekstraliga.

International

For Poland , Słaboń took part in the junior division of the U18 B-European Championships in 1995 , 1996 and 1997 , when he was also voted best striker of the tournament as top scorer and top scorer, as well as the U20 B-World Cup in 1999 .

In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the B-World Championships in 1998 and 1999 and, after the switch to the current division system, at the tournaments of Division I in 2001 , 2003 , when he was the top scorer of the tournament in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2011 and 2012 . He also played for Poland in the 2002 World Cup , when the team competed in the top division for the last time. After all, he also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and 2010 in Vancouver .
