Danijela Kristina Rundqvist (born September 26, 1984 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who was active for many years at AIK Solna in the highest Swedish league, today's Svenska damhockeyligan . With the Swedish women's national team , she took part in a large number of tournaments and completed a total of over 200 international matches.
Career
In Sweden she was active for the AIK Solna in the highest Swedish league, the Riksserien , and won three Swedish championship titles with the team and four times the IIHF European Women Champions Cup .
In the 2010/11 season she played for the Burlington Barracudas in the Canadian Women's Hockey League .
At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , she won with the Swedish women's team bronze medal in Olympic ice hockey tournament and four years later at the Winter Olympics in Turin , the silver medal.
She also took part in the World Cup in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009, where she won two bronze medals. In total, Rundqvist completed 223 international matches for Sweden, in which she scored 46 goals.
Today she works in the management of the women's team at Djurgårdens IF, as does her husband Nils Ekman . They have a daughter together.
