The Castle of Cagliostro ( Japanese ル パ ン 三世 カ リ オ ス ト ロ の 城 , Rupan Sansei: Kariosutoro no Shiro ) is an anime film from 1979 based on the manga series Lupine III by Monkey Punch . Directed by Hayao Miyazaki , who was also involved in the script. In Germany, the film also appeared under the titles Die Jäger des Cagliostro (cinema), Hardyman cleans up (VHS) and Hardyman creates everyone - freedom for Princess Yasmin (TV).
action
In a robbery on a casino , Lupine steals a huge amount of counterfeit money , which leads him on the trail of a gang of counterfeiters in the smallest country in the world, Cagliostro. Once there, Lupine breaks into the castle of the Count of Cagliostro and rescues the future wife of the Count, Princess Clarisse, who is held there, from its clutches. But then the count's henchmen attach themselves to Lupin's trail and Interpol inspector Zenigata is also one of the party.
Publication and synchronization
There are two German dubbed versions of this film. The first was created for the cinema release in 1984, which was shortened by about 16 minutes and performed under the title Die Jäger des Cagliostro and published in 1987 on VHS as Hardyman cleans up . In the TV version Hardyman creates everyone - freedom for Princess Yasmin in the later years was missing the intro with opening credits and the closing song. The cuts are identical to those of the first French version from 1983. The second version was created in 2006 for DVD evaluation and, in contrast to the first, is completely uncut under the title Das Schloss des Cagliostro on the anime label Anime Virtual (today Kazé) published.
