When the woman arrives, Arcane and his people break into the laboratory. Holland, now contaminated with the preparation, flees into the swamp. criticism

“The awkwardly staged horror film with several borrowings from classics of the genre dispenses with bloodbaths and exaggerated elements of shock. The trivial fairy tale was modeled on a comic strip and occasionally even has hints of quiet (but awkward) poetry. "

Awards

1983: Nomination for the Saturn Award in the category Best Horror Film

Sequels

The sequel The green thing from the swamp (original title: The Return of Swamp Thing ) from 1989 and the television series based on the film Swamp Thing (1990-1993) were less successful.
