Dave Franco
David John Franco (born June 12, 1985 in Palo Alto , California ) is an American actor . He is the son of Betsy Levine and Doug Franco. His older brother is the actor James Franco .
biography
Dave Franco was born the youngest son of Betsy Lou, a poet, author and editor of Russian-Jewish origin, and Douglas Eugene Franco (1948–2011), the Portuguese-Swedish director of a company in Silicon Valley . Dave Franco stated in an interview with Conan O'Brien that he was "proud" to be Jewish.
Dave Franco's maternal grandmother, Marcella Ruth Levine, owned the Verne Art Gallery , a well-known art gallery in Cleveland, and his paternal grandmother, Marjorie or "Mitzie" J. Peterson, was a children's author. Franco grew up in California with his two older brothers James and Tom.
Graduating from the University of Southern California , he originally introduced himself as a high school teacher teaching creative writing until his brother James Franco's manager took him to a drama class in his sophomore year where he began learning acting skills.
Dave Franco became known to a wide audience through the role of Cole Aaronson in the American sitcom Scrubs , in which he appeared in the ninth season of 2009, Scrubs - Med School , as the lead actor.
Franco made his directorial debut with The Rental , which was released in the US in July 2020.
In August 2015, he got engaged to actress Alison Brie, well-known from the series community . The two married in March 2017.
