David Gravenhorst
David Gravenhorst (* in Bochum ) is a German theater director and actor .
Live and act
He is the brother of the organist Tobias Gravenhorst and now lives in Hamburg .
After graduating from high school in Siegen / Westphalia, he completed training as an actor and director at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He had his first engagement as an actor in the 1983/1984 season at the Landestheater Tübingen . From 1985 to 1989 he worked as an actor and assistant director at the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel. In the 1999/2000 and 2000/2001 seasons he was director of the Oldenburg State Theater . Today he is a director at the Ohnsorg Theater in Hamburg. Since 1986 he has worked as a freelance director in Göttingen , Nordhausen, Oldenburg, Lucerne, Krefeld, Mönchengladbach, Stuttgart and Hamburg, among others .
He is no stranger to other countries either - since 1988 he has been working with the French director Anne Delbée as assistant and artistic collaborator in Paris and Nancy for (among others) Phèdre / Jean Racine , Hernani / Victor Hugo, Tête d'or (Goldhaupt) / Paul Claudel .
In addition to a theater director and actor, he is also a production manager, screenwriter, assistant director, dramaturge and lecturer.
