David Kitay
David Joseph Kitay (born October 23, 1961 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American composer .
Life
David Joseph Kitay was born the son of an accountant and an opera singer. At the age of eight he began taking private music lessons and for several years he attended the Dick Grove School of Music parallel to school . In his early 20s, Kitay was known as a good guitarist , so the well-known music producer Barry Mann hired him as a studio musician for Motown . There he played as a studio musician for The Temptations , Four Tops , Aretha Franklin and James Ingram .
It was then Steve Terrell, with whom he founded a joint record company, who brought him to composing film music. After composing for the animated series Teen Wolf , other commissions followed and the two successful films Look Who's Talking! and look who's talking 2 . However, Kitay's mother died in 1991, which is why he withdrew from the music business. When he wanted to return, he found that his reputation had evaporated and that he had to earn new orders. But after a few years in which he composed mainly for television films, he was able to return to successful productions such as Clueless - What Else! , Scary Movie and Harold & Kumar work.
