The Triumph of the Musketeer (Original title: Hardi! Pardaillan ) is a French - Italian film directed by Bernard Borderie from 1964 . It is the follow-up to the film The Scarlet Musketeer and is based on the fourth book in the Les Pardaillan series by Michel Zevaco .

King Henry III has to flee to Chartres because he has got caught between the fronts because of his sympathy for the Huguenots and is besieged by Heinrich, Duke of Guise . He instructs Pardaillan to ask help from Henry of Navarre . To do this, he has to break through enemy lines. He is accompanied by Yvon and Charles d'Angoulême. In doing so, he must thwart the Duke of Guise's intrigues. Bianca Farness, the mistress of Henry of Navarre, turns out to be the worst enemy. Henry of Navarre also tried Henry III. to murder.

It's a coat-and-sword film . It was shot in color on Eastmancolor, 35mm 2.35: 1 Franscope in monophonic tone . The shooting locations were the castles in Bretesche and Blois . The production was carried out by Union Latine Cinématographique ( Paris ), Euro International Films ( Rome ) and Lux Film from Gaumont was responsible for the distribution . The film was released in Italy on February 29, 1964 and in France on April 8, 1964. René Moulaert designed the film structures .

Cast and dubbing
The triumph of the Musketeer was at the International Film Union for a dialogue book by Paula Lepa under the dialogue director of Horst H. Roth synchronized - this version is reduced by brief 10 minutes. DEFA created its own dubbing for the GDR under the title "The New Adventures of the Knight of Pardaillan" in 1967 - dialogue: Harald Thiemann - director: Irene Mahlich.
