Diamaguène-Sicap Mbao is one of the 16 districts (Communes d'arrondissement du Sénégal) of Pikine , the largest city in Senegal even before the capital Dakar .

geography

Diamaguène-Sicap Mbao is located in the southeast of the bottleneck of the Cap-Vert peninsula on both sides of Autoroute 1 and between the Dakar-Niger railway in the north and the Forêt classée de Mbao (FCM) in the east, one of the most threatened by urbanization, but still the largest Green lung of the metropolitan region of Dakar, as well as that of the Baie de Hann in the south. The municipality has an area of ​​7.3 km².

The national road N 1 divides the city district into two roughly rectangular halves in the north-west and south-east. In the northwest between the N1 and the railway line are the densely populated districts of Diamaguène and Sicap Mbao , while the southeastern part between the N1 and the coast is a purely industrial area, the zone Industrielle de Mbao . Neighboring clockwise are the districts of Thiaroye sur Mer , Tivaouane Diacksao and Thiaroye Gare in the west, Yeumbeul Sud in the north and Mbao in the east.
