Dirrty is a R & B - song of the American singer Christina Aguilera , they together with the rapper Redman has recorded. The piece was the first single from their fourth studio album Stripped and was released on September 14, 2002.
content
Dirrty is a piece with hip-hop and R&B elements. The text contains numerous sexual allusions such as table dance . At the beginning Christina Aguilera asks the listener to move around on the dance floor and to behave “dirrty” ( corruption of Engl. Dirty (dirty)). She herself will dance with her friends until the early hours of the morning and work up a sweat so much that she will undress.
Redman's rap verse is also about partying and about going to the club to find a good-looking woman. Above all, Aguilera wanted to shed her teen pop image with Dirrty , which she had after her first albums, and which she had previously felt pushed into this role.
production
Dirrty was produced by the American music producer Rockwilder together with Aguilera. The lyrics and music were written by Aguilera, Redman, Rockwilder, Balewa Muhammad and Jasper Cameron. The production is based on Redman's song Let's Get Dirty (I Can't Get in da Club) from 2001, which was also produced by Rockwilder.
Music video
The music video shot for Dirrty was directed by American director David LaChapelle . It was shot in Los Angeles and premiered in September 2002. The controversial video was intended to change Christina Aguilera's image , who previously appeared as a bubblegum pop singer and “ nice girl next door ”. It has over 100 million views on YouTube (as of October 2019).
At the beginning, Christina Aguilera rides a motorcycle to an underground club. There she gets into a boxing ring and dances provocatively and provocatively dressed among other lightly clad people. She only wears a bra and a very short mini skirt , which has earned her criticism from music colleagues and the media. Then a masked woman joins her in the ring and they both start to box against each other. In between, lascivious dance scenes are shown again and again . The fight finally wins Aguilera by her opponent ko suggests.
During his rap verse, Redman walks through an aisle of the underground club, lined with numerous extravagant people, such as contortionists , furrys , bodybuilders , mud wrestlers and fire-breathers . Towards the end of the video, Aguilera is dancing with other dancers in a room, being splashed with water.
In Europe the video was shown uncensored on most television channels , but in the USA and several Asian countries it was cut and some scenes removed. In Thailand the video was not shown at all because in one scene posters in Thai alluded to the local sex tourism . Among other things, the words "young underage girls" and "Thailand's sex tourism" could be read. Director David LaChapelle and the producers of the video later stated that they were not informed about the content of the poster and apologized.
