Dorian Boccolacci (born September 9, 1998 in Cannes ) is a French racing driver . He competed in the GP3 series and the FIA Formula 2 championship in 2018 .

Career

Boccolacci began his motorsport career in karting in 2006 , where he remained active until 2013. In 2011 he won the French championship in the KF3 class. In 2012 he reached third place in the CIK-FIA European Championship in the KF3 class. In addition, Boccolacci was accepted into the support program of the Lotus Formula 1 team in 2012. In 2013 he won the WSK Super Master Series , the Andrea Margutti Trophy and the WSK Euro Series in the KF category . When WSK Final Cup , he finished second in the CIK-FIA European Championship in sixth place in the CIK-FIA World Cup ninth. In the KZ2 class, he won the CIK FIA International Super Cup .

In 2014, Boccolacci switched to formula racing and competed in the French F4 championship. He won two races and achieved second place behind Lasse Sørensen with 238 to 387 points . In 2015 , Boccolacci competed for Signature in the European Formula 3 championship . He finished the season in 19th place overall.

In 2016, at Tech 1 Racing , Boccollacci received a cockpit for the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and the Northern European Formula Renault . In the Eurocup he won two races and was second overall behind Lando Norris with 200 to 253 points . In the northern European Formula Renault he achieved third place with a win. He also graduated in the season 2016 of the Euro Formula Open two guest appearances for Teo Martín Motorsport .

In 2017 , Boccolacci switched to the GP3 series , in which he drove for Trident . In 2018 he also started in the GP3 series, this time at MP Motorsport. He won a race and finished tenth overall. In the second half of the season he switched to Formula 2 within the team. Here he finished 21st at the end of the season.
