The EHV Sabers is an Austrian women's ice hockey club from Vienna . The club was founded in 1999 and has been playing in the Austrian women's ice hockey championship since the 1999/2000 season . The club colors are black and yellow, the home games are played in the Albert-Schultz-Halle in Vienna . With sixteen championship titles so far ( 2002 to 2005 , 2007 , 2008 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 , 2018 , 2019 ) the Sabers are the most successful team in Austrian women's ice hockey.
In addition, the club won six times, in 2004 , 2010/11 , 2011/12 , 2014/15 , 2015/16 and 2017/18 , the Ladies Elite League Elite Women's Hockey League , where teams from Slovenia , Italy and Hungary, Slovakia, Kazakhstan and Denmark play along. In the 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2018/19 seasons, the club won the EWHL Supercup. In the 2007/08 season, the Sabers took part in the European Cup for the first time , but have not yet reached the final. The best successes were reaching the semi-finals four times (most recently 2014/15). This competition was closed in 2015 by the IIHF for financial reasons.
In the 2008/09 season, the Sabers competed together with the Vienna Flyers as a syndicate Sabers / Flyers United in the EWHL and the state championship.
In the youth work, the club cooperates with the HC Okanagan Tigers.
