Eglhartinger Forest

The Eglhartinger Forest is a community-free area of 26.76 km² in the Upper Bavarian district of Ebersberg . The name also denotes a district that is almost congruent with the community-free area and also includes only three small exclaves belonging to neighboring communities with a total area of ​​four hectares (0.04 km²).

The forest is the southwestern part of the local recreation area Ebersberger Forst . In the south, the municipality of Kirchseeon borders on the area (8.18 km), in the west on Zorneding (4.31 km), in the far northwest over a short distance on Vaterstetten (610 meters), in the north on the Anzinger Forest (one straight line of 7.04 km along the Purfinger- Vacated ), the Northeast briefly at the Ebersberg forest (1.14 km) and to the east by the city Ebersberg (3.20 km).

In the eastern area of ​​the border to the Anzinger / Ebersberger forest is the forester's house Sankt Hubertus (with beer garden), which belongs as an exclave to the urban area of ​​Ebersberg. In the southeast, the former forester's house Diana ( charcoal burning ) and an associated parcel (parking lot) form two exclaves of the Kirchseeon community. These two exclaves are only separated from each other by the six meter wide Reitöster path.

The Eglhartinger Forest has a common border of 630 meters with the Ebersberger exclave, as well as 305 and 518 meters with the Kirchseeon exclaves.

Although the official statistics do not show a body of water, the aerial photo in section 9 of the state forest district XI Eglsee shows an approximately 500 square meter pond . Nor is the much larger Antoni pond (State Forest District X Antonibrunnen, Department 28) recorded.

Of the 15 state forest districts of the entire Ebersberger Forest, which correspond to corridors , five are in the community-free area of ​​Eglhartinger Forest. The state forest districts are further subdivided into numbered sections of the same size (about 19 hectares each ), delimited by squares. These correspond to parcels . Only where the area borders on neighboring municipalities are the divisions usually smaller, as the squares are not completely within the area.

Remarks

The area is named after the former municipality of Eglharting, bordering in the south, which was renamed Kirchseeon in 1939, or after the second largest district of this municipality, the church village of Eglharting.

Finds from the Hallstatt period were recovered in a burial mound field .

These are the southern part of the exclave Forsthaus Sankt Hubertus (district part 1, to the city of Ebersberg, with an area of ​​1.97 hectares) and the exclaves at the former forester's house Diana (district part 2, to the municipality of Kirchseeon, with areas of 0.48 or 1.64 hectares).
