Eichholz (Wermelskirchen)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Eichholz is a single farmstead south-east of Kreckersweg, west of Heiligenborn and south of Osminghausen in Wermelskirchen-Dhünn in the Rheinisch-Bergischen district .

It was one of the 333 acre large Kameralgut Eichholz of the counts and later Dukes of Berg . The first mention can be found in 1443, written "Eicholtze".

For many centuries there is evidence of tax payments and leases for and by the sovereigns. From 1820 the property was parceled out and sold to private individuals by the Prussian tax authorities. Large parts were sold to Bayer AG in 1909 and added to their Großeledder estate .
