Elena Andreea Panțuroiu (born February 24, 1995 in Câmpulung ) is a Romanian triple jumper and heptathlete .
Athletic career
In 2011 Elena Panțuroiu took part in the World Youth Championships in Lille and was eliminated from the qualification there. In 2013 she won the silver medal at the Junior European Championships in Rieti with 13.36 m. In 2014 she finished fifth at the Junior World Championships in Eugene . In 2015 she was eliminated from qualifying for the European Indoor Championships in Prague . At the U23 European Championships , she competed in both long and triple jump. While she was eliminated in qualification in the long jump, she won the silver medal in her specialty. At the World Championships in Beijing , she was eliminated in qualifying . In 2016 she took part in the World Indoor Championships , where she finished fifth. At the European Championships in Amsterdam she was eliminated again in the qualification. She managed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , in which she was eliminated in the qualification .
At the European Indoor Championships 2017 in Belgrade , she was eliminated with 13.84 m in the qualification. At the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland , she won the gold medal in the triple jump with 14.27 meters and prevailed against the Spaniard Ana Peleteiro . She also competed in the long jump, but was eliminated from the qualification despite the season's best performance of 5.98 m. She also took part in the World Championships in London , where she could not qualify for the final with a width of 14.02 m . The following year she was fourth at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham with 14.33 m, as well as fourth at the European Championships in Berlin in August with 14.38 m.
In 2016 and 2018 Panțuroiu became Romanian champion in the outdoor triple jump and in 2014 and from 2016 to 2019 also in the hall. In addition, she was also champion in the indoor pentathlon in 2014 and 2017.
